Boottrac sole
and heel plates are precision stamped from 1/8” thick, high carbon
steel. A heat treating process is used to create a ductile but impenetrable
hardness. All this strength is achieved while keeping Boottracs
extremely lightweight. In fact, Bootracs “skeleton” frames are about
half the weight of molded rubber sole traction devices. And unlike
the molded style devices, Boottracs frames and allow water and mud
to drain through the holes.
The sole plate
and heel plates are connected with two rows of roller chain, forming
an articulating hinge. The hinge design makes for easier walking
and because the it’s located within the footprint of your boot,
you’re less likely to snag branches.
